The Graveyard

Sighs..I'm doing night shifts like every other week. This time around, I'm lucky to do 3 nights with my pal, Sadiq, but the last 3 nights will be with everyone's most "favourite" colleague! THAT's kinda depressing..oh well, I will survive! It's good that Sadiq is around to entertain me so that I can conserve my energy for the last 3 nights this week. :) May patience be with me~
I just read Helmi's blog on Friendster. It's so funny! He was talking about this "brotherhood" thingy that he's a member of. Actually, it's just another term for the ABC (Alligator-Buaya-Crocodile) Corporation. The girls at my work place don't act like females & some of the guys don't seem to act like males too. The straight men, like in particular, Helmi, preys on women like how wolves prey on chickens. We girls got used to that fact though...& it adds variety to our more or less mundane jobs... at times.
The boys from The Brotherhood fellowship had their gathering last 2 weeks. See how confident they looked...

The remaining SGSAs at Conrad. We are like siblings, sort of. Haha~

Retail Therapy & Body Works

I didn't know about it UNTIL my sis filled me in. The Great S'pore Sale has spread around the island & I think I got struck by the shopping mania! My motive when i stepped into Far East Plaza today was just to get a bag. But..I ended up circling the whole mall, trying tops, bottoms, necklaces...Hehe. IF not for the thought of saving for my trip to Australia, I would have bought more stuff! But..oh well..only 2 things made the cut.

My sis & I chipped in to buy this bottom. Luckily, her size & mine are similiar...I've been wanting to buy this kinda shorts..

The actual price of this bag is $27 but I got it for $20 coz it's the last one at the shop. Whatmore, it's a little dirty on the back side. I like it coz the length of the bag is adjustable.

I went to get my dose of body treatment after my night shift ends yesterday. My round of nights this time wasn't that terrific. Sighs... Anyway, I chose to go to Wayan Retreat at Bussorah St & had a "Ratu Jongras" treatment. Basically, it consists of 45 mins Balinese massage, a Javanese Lulur (a heavenly scrub that contains spices like tumeric & rice to exfoliate my skin), Yoghurt masque ( to stimulate collagen production & deep moisturise) & lastly, a coconut creme hair massage for my head! So shiok! I just feel like doing it again..soon! Haha~

I met up with Fizah & Maria for dinner at Ambrosia. It's a Mediterranean cafe along Baghdad St. Ambience & service was okay. Food was so-so only, as most of the appetizers are not available. Our drinks were far too sweet...Hmmm...I'll consider going there again.

The food that we share....

Fizah is getting the pre-marriage jitters! Her wedding is just next weekened... :) But she's going to Gran Canaria for her honeymoon of 16 days! Whoa..

Maria got a new Creative video camera that can play mp3 too. The price is pretty reasoonable. Meanwhile, I'm happy with my Nano. Hehe~ I shall see you girls again at the wedding! Yay~

Railed By A French & A German

So, I just came back home from my night shift. It wasn't that busy but it sure wasn't an easy night either. First, I was scolded by a French guest. I could understand how angry he was becoz he could hear drilling sounds from his room & it's like almost 2 am! There was a mini construction at Suntec area (which we weren't aware of) & unfortunately, the guest could hear it from his room. French man was ranting at me: " What the f*** is that sound? What kinda f***ing hotel is this? Why is a country like S'pore has this kinda noise at night?" He was yakking non stop & I couldn't say a word. Sighs..& it wasn't my fault.

Then at 6am, a famous German guest known for disputing almost anything came to check in. All was fine AT FIRST & we were well prepared in case he dispute his room charges. We had his reservation correspondence on stand by. And guess what..he's smart enough to play around with the correspondence. Apparently, the correspondence wasn't stamped by his company, so, he dispute about the room charges. Sighs...& again, it wasn't my fault.

I hope...tonight will be better worr~ Argggh!

Aras Is My Survivior!

I tell you, I have never watched any Survivor episodes before this. I didn't find anything interesting on the show. But..the last few weeks, when I was bored on Friday afternoons, I actually watched Survivor (live via satelitte) & I began to follow on the show! Especially, when one of my favourites, Aras, is so cute (despite the so much unshaven hair on the face). Last night, I watched the full 3 hrs of the finale & reunion show on tv. Superhero is surprised that, I would watch it coz he knows how much I disliked Survivor before. Hehe~ Anyway, congrats Aras! Yay!

Went to watch a Korean movie called "Voice" yesterday. Now, I'm not a fan of horror movies & the last time I watched one was like... last year? Anyway, the movie is not THAT scary but I still shut my eyes during a few scenes. It was rather sad though, & I cried when one of the schoolgirl dedicate a song to her dead friend. Sighs...

I'll be starting my night shift again today..with Helmi & Cindy. Gonna get some sleep later.

The Da Vinci Trail - "Im No Da Vinci"

Hi Y'all!

I have a story! Haha. My Saturday Story.

As the title suggest, I was on the Da Vinci Trail held by MediaCorp ArtsCentral at The Cathay earlier today. Running around Spore in an oversized shirt and a Da Vinci lanyard was beginnin to be a bad idea. Not mentioning stares and weird look from commuters. Our only transport available to us was train. No others, lest u want to be disqualified.

Well we gathered up at 1030am for registration and rendevous back at 0100, givin time to participants to change up to the correct attire(the Da Vinci Tee). At 1pm, me and another fren, Ben, was all geared up. Little that we know our first clue was our first and costliest mistake!

The First clue. "A known phoenix rises from this station..". Actin all gungho and rather confident, we headed to CCK..thinkin that phoenix LRT station will rise to Bt Panjang Station. Yeah RIGHT..!!! While travellin from DG to CCK, we were thinkin..Damn this is far!. We were already at Jurong East when suggestion to callup a friend proved otherwise. "Its Somerset! A phoenix hotel is located opp!" my friend on phone informed. We suddenly felt the overcast dark gloom as it dawned upon us that CCk was too far for a first clue. As they say, the rest is history...

Total of 1hr lost to rectify the mistake and we managed to solve another 3 clues when we realised its time to head back to The Cathay. Total clues to be answered - 8. Total Solved - 4. Sigh.....

With collection of the rewards pack, a pair of painful tired legs that developed a mind of their own, we dragged ourselves home.

Oh yeah..we played pool first to take our minds of our SADDDDDDD mistake. Dinner at our hometown coffeeshop and off to home....

There goes the trip to Paris.....sigh..

Lil Superhero Guy.

ps: sorry lil girl. didnt meant to speak to u that way. :(

Going "International"!

So, like I mentioned, I went to watch movie with Superhero at the all new The Picturehouse. Seats were comfortable & there's an usher (complete with the formal shirt & bow) IN the theatre itself. We watched "L'Enfant", which means "The Child" in French. Superhero & I love watching international movies & we have caught lotsa French ones in particular. :) The language of love, I guess. Haha~ Anyway, Superhero was happy because..he has a new pair of shoes! (Finally!)

And who chose the design? It's me, of course! I'm his style advisor, what..

I met my colleagues for dinner at a Japanese restaurant called Kushin-bo (or something like that). Farewell dinner for Gen. *sob sob*

Norman & Helmi love to pose for the camera & enjoying the food too..

The restaurant is buffet-styled so we all ate to our hearts' content! My colleagues asked me to try the fried "pregnant fish". It looks yucky & tastes like..salted fish worr..

Cindy, June, Suelyn & Sue decided to have this challenge on who gobbles the sobe the fastest....

And Cindy was so excited that she choked on her sobe! See what's that in her mouth? Tsk tsk...KIASU!

Sue & Cindy were trying very hard to peel the crabs. I just ate what they offered me...Hehe~

Suelyn gone cranky with all the peelings. Gen was going to grab the Chawa-mushi..

It's the first time I spent so much on Japanese food, but the company was great! How often do we get to sit & eat together for hours, right? Geez, I was so full that I afraid that I'd get nightmares. Haha~ No Japanense food for the next 1 month at least. Please!

When I opened the letter box just now, I saw a mail with my name hand written on the envelope. I was wondering..who could be the sender.. Ahaks! It's Fizah with her wedding invitation! She invites Superhero as well. I'm getting all excited for my friend's wedding! :)

T.G.I.F.

Thank God it's Friday, a public holiday & I'm not working! I just came back from M.O.S this morning & now I'm about to get ready to meet Superhero for movies. After which, will be hanging out with my colleagues for dinner at some Jap restaurant. It's a farewell dinner for Gen actually..who left us, hopefully to find the greener pastures out there.

M.O.S was soooo crowded. Tsk, I was sweating profusely from the crowd, not from the dancing! Music was good lar..but the next time I wanna go to M.O.S again..I'll better think twice about the heat & people...

A Week's Updates

Heard of a makan place called "Chomp Chomp"? I only got to know about it a few days ago. I had a craving to eat "roti john", so my sis & I decided to go to a Serangoon Gardens Hawker Centre where there's a famous roti john stall & I believe..where the "Chomp Chomp" is. We are not very familiar with Serangoon area but..we still managed to find it! By the time, I already felt giddy from the mrt & bus ride..& the hot afternoon sun.

Then, I went for a Javanese massage & Ginger treatment (some kinda body scrub) along Bt Timah. Gosh..it's good! I think I'm addicted to these indulgence..need to get a dose like every other month. I know I've to save for my holiday but..I just can't resist the temptation! Hmm..I'm starting to plan for my next treatment already..hehe~

Let's talk a bit on my work. Everything seems normal, but of course, there're some glitch too. Everyday, I tell myself to think positive...be happy, you know. But, today, SOMEONE had to spoil my day. Again, it makes me wonder...why the hell I'm back? Hmmmm.. I hope that SOMEONE will get out of my sight though. The world will be a better place then. :)

Pay is in! Progress package is in! I got my new contacts & specs! I look good in the specs, even Superhero thinks so. Hehe..I like that~

The Owl In Me..

I just came back from my "graveyard" shift...Still have one more night to go. Pretty tired but I enjoy this round of night shift! This is made possible coz I was working with one of my fav people, Nini. She's always been a good worker, full of initiative, helpful & we can crap the whole night long. Haha..I hope I'll be working with her again the next round.. *cross fingers*

I have a major, major break out on my face! I haven't seen my dermatologist for almost 3 weeks now coz I'm so broke. But I can't take the pimples anymore!! Hmm..maybe I'll drop by the clinic sometime tomorrow.. I just made a new pair of contact lenses and glasses. Kinda excited but that will also mean that more money needs to be forked out. Sighs...where's my progress package???!! (Oh yah..I keyed the wrong account number. Shucks~)

Sue & I talked about our possible trip to Cairns just now. We wanna go sky diving, ride the hot air balloon & visit the Greet Barrier Reef. The thought of it already is so shiok! I hope I can save enough money to go though..Hehe~

Gonna go to bed now...Will be busy at work tonight. Bring it on, Conrad!

"Welcome Back"

For better or for worse, I returned to my previous work place today. My colleagues were happy to see me as much as I'm happy to see them. One or two made stupid comments & I just bitched at them back. Who are those buggers to say things about me when they themselves are not very far either?! At least, I know I have good working record..& I'll work even harder to prove to myself, colleagues & bosses that I really thought about it before making the decision to return. And of course..along came the "invisible bond" that I mustn't leave the company for a period of time...

I got the same locker again, which is good coz most of my "kakis" are around the same area too. Just that my old uniform has been taken by a newcomer! I have to wait for a new batch to be ordered (which I don't know when?!) & in the meantime, I'll be wearing trainee's uniform! I don't like THAT coz it hinders my movement & will show my bulging stomach if I eat too much. It's a dress by the way. Sighs...I guess I just have to wait lorr...

Other than that, first day was alright. I encountered worse. :)

Bad Blisters

In the first place, I don't exactly like wearing shoes. I prefer sandals or slip-ons (like my Birkenstocks!) anytime, anywhere. But when I went out with Superhero yesterday, I felt like wearing my pink shoes. Normally, when I wear that shoes, I'll have blisters on my feet but I thought of just giving it a try again. By the time I walked to the MRT station, my feet already have blisters despite the plasters I put on! Went to Guardian to buy a special blister plaster. Cost me $10 for 5 strips! Goodness!

I couldn't sleep properly last night coz the blister hurts badly! When I went to the toilet just now, I screamed the moment my feet touched the water. So painful worr.... I had to put on the plaster again. Immediately..the pain stopped! Aahh..the blister plaster is a saviour indeed! No more shoes for me..temporary. :(

The plaster that saved my day!

I got in touch with a long lost friend! Knew him a few years back but we haven't spoke to each other for almost 2 years! He has a unique interest of collecting those scary looking dolls, called Living Dead Dolls. And he has these piercings on his tongue lar, eyebrow lar..but still looks cool! Haha..he's working around the same area as me. Hmm..guess we can do some catching up over coffee one of these days..

It's a brand new week tomorrow...& I'll start with a new vision at work too. Wish me luck. :)

No Money, No Talk~

I trimmed my hair today..& changed the style a bit. I wanna grow long hair but I don't wanna do the bunning. Unfortunately, my work place's rules are similiar to a school's. No over-coloured hair, only 1 pair of earrings allowed, long hair must be tied neatly.. My hair stylist is shocked when I tell her that..haha~

It's a Saturday tomorrow. Me & Superhero are very, very broke. Not sure what we gonna do..had enough of watching movies, period. Hmmm..maybe go to the beach? Escape theme park? Or just go somewhere to chill out & "makan".. Anyway, he scared the hell out of me yesterday. He fell asleep while his tv & comp was still on. Somehow, I tried calling him on his mobile but couldn't get through. He only received my messages this morning. It's either his UGLY phone or the LAME server, which I rather not name here to protect the innocence. Hehe~

Fizah is getting married in June!!! She's sending me the invites & I'm happy for her. Gosh..time flies... So when's my turn??? Hehe..not anytime soon. We talked about it casually & we see that it maybe like..in 5-6 years? In the mean time, I shall save money (that's the hardest thing to do!) & enjoy being unmarried! :)

The Language of Love

My second day of "Free & Easy at Choa Chu Kang"..was ok. Going out later to meet Superhero for awhile. I've done some clean ups to my drawer..looking through documents & thrashing the unwanted ones. Read my friend's boyfriend's blog and saw this quiz. It's about what I need most in a relationship...I think. Hmm..this is my results:

The Five Love Languages

My primary love language is probably
Quality Time
with a secondary love language being
Physical Touch.

Complete set of results

Quality Time: 10
Physical Touch: 7
Words of Affirmation: 7
Acts of Service: 5
Receiving Gifts: 1

Information

Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

Take the quiz

I wonder...what's Superhero's results will be..

Home Sweet Home..

It's Monday! Been a long long time since I spent a Monday at home, free & easy. Oh well..this week is indeed a slacking one for me before I get back to work next week. What's on my itinerary? Hmm..catch up on my sleep, make my tummy grow bigger (though I hate it!), eat home-cooked food (coz I'm very broke!), watch tv like there's no tomorrow & "chatting" with my mom or rather..me listening to her nagging...

I slept very late last night, almost at 4am. I was reading a book. A love story but kinda crappy. I went to library to get some stuff to read after lunch today. When I get back to work, there'll be hardly time for myself anyway. I followed my sis to the supermarket to get household items..she knows her way round the supermarket more than I do! My mom said that this is the time for me to learn cooking...oh well~

Sue and I plan to go on a trip sometime end of this year!! That thought gets me really excited AND motivated! We thought of Cairns..or Brisbane..or.. Anyway, I better start saving soon!

Can't wait for the Progress Package money to come in..I think I keyed in the wrong account number so..the money will be credited later than 1st May. Shucks...

Batam Retreat!

Surprise..surprise..me and my 2 girlfriends, Fizah & Maria went on a day trip to Batam. It was to celebrate Maria's so belated birthday. Fizah's getting married soon & we have yet to go on a trip together! So, even though it's just to Batam & we only had 1 day, we decided to just make full use of it. Had so much fun..the company was great! Who says 3 is a crowd? Not always... :)

Maria is always entertaining us with her antics. The 3 of us updated one another of our lives in the ferry that took us to Batam Centre..

We planned to venture to the nearby area..but it was raining! So, we spent the WHOLE DAY at the shopping mall just opposite the ferry terminal. If you wanna go to this Mega Mall Batam, do bring a sweater. Aircon is like FREE in there..

They have these so-called animal rides that children can take round the shopping mall. One service staff will hold on to the side while a child ride the "animal". Gosh..the sheep makes the most irritating noise!!!

Wanted to go for massage, but couldn't find anything good at the shopping mall. Maria spotted this nail parlour coz it looks posh, yet interesting. It's called "Miss Lazy". Indeed..we felt lazy & so at home..

Fizah & me treat Maria to her ever first manicure & pedicure! She was so excited. The 3 of us had Dark Chocolate Paraffin Wax for our feet ...The smell of the chocolate is soooo yummy!!

The lady boss herself did the manicure for Maria. She's friendly and talked about the decor of her shop. She said it's "half Da Vinci & half Laura Ashley". She played sentimental love songs on the stereo & the 3 of us almost fell asleep..Shiok shiok..

Fizah reading a magazine while waiting for her feet to be rubbed off by dark chocolate wax...Lotsa LV bags in the shop too. Apparently, lady boss travels a lot & bring these branded bags back home to sell...

Couldn't decide on the colours..so in the end, all of us got the same SQ like colour on our toe nails..

We saw A & W and couldn't resist the curly fries!! Bought them for take-aways & went to this cosy cafe called ChocNutz to have a drink. (Couldn't stand the thought that chocolate were only rubbed on our feet earlier!) Their chocolate drinks are delicious!

We also took away the ice-cream waffle...

And Maria insisted on buying another ice-cream waffle cone..

I didn't had enough of the chocolate drink so..I bought this bottle tea while waiting for the ferry back to Singapore. The tea is thirst-quenching & the bottle looks cute! Wanted to buy 1 more for Superhero but I was told that there will be additional charges for the bottle. Forget it larr..

Hmmm..by the way, I have made another decision. Will make some calls later in the day. Let me cross my fingers..

The Turmoil In My Head, Heart & Mind~

The past few days has really got me into deep thinking & feelings. I wanted to leave my previous job so much but I wasn't happy that I left. I started on my new job barely a day & I didn't enjoy it as well. So, I called it quits. I'm a worry-wart & I tend to get my feelings involved most of the time. Sometimes, I believe that, if I'm happy..then everything else doesn't matter. I don't like changes, everybody don't like changes. But why must I be the one changing..why can't circumstances change for me??

I think I need a kit-kat...

The Eventful Early Morning~

I went to M.O.S. with my now ex-colleagues last night. Cool..there was no queue to enter but it was quite packed inside. It's a Friday night so what can I expect..

It was to celebrate Sadiq's birthday as well. Suelyn already promised to buy him 2 powerful drinks..drinks to make him remember his 24th birthday. He drank the first one, called Graveyard so fast...as if he's drinking Coke. After all that dancing & about 30 mins later, he was still fine. Then came the second drink.. the Waterfall! Hmm..he was still ok, although he looked quite "high" already. But when he & Jason went to the toilet, he didn't came back! Jason looked for him like 3 times round the club but to no avail. Nickole called his mobile but unable to reach him too. Gosh...where's the birthday kid??? I told Jason to try looking at the toilet again & each cubicle, coz he might have gone flat. Sighs..indeed he did.

Poor Nickole & me had to bring him home coz we live around the same area. We girls looked thru his HUGE but very empty bag & couldn't find his IC & house keys. Haha..we made Sadiq repeat his address so that we know where we heading to.

Finally...we reached his block. Thank God he could walk.. so me & Nickole didn't have to hold him. I carried his HUGE bag while Nick stood by in case he fell on his knees. Along his corridor, he could even say.."My jeans are dropping". Me & Nick laughed & shook our heads.. before he told us to "Ssshhhh.." with his finger across the lips. Then..he's home sweet home..Lucky.

Sighs..mission accomplished.. Nickole & me waited to take the first bus home...
