Shopping Disorder

I just came back from Mustafa Centre like 30 mins ago. Had the sudden inspiration to go shopping after my afternoon shift. Met Sadiq at about 1.45 am & we start going around with the yellow basket at Mustafa. I got myself a DVD called Mukhsin. And both of us need to get perfume! I was so tempted to get Givenchy or DKNY but decided on my all time favourite Clinique's Happy Heart instead. Received lotsa compliments on that fragrance, hokays! It's hard to find a perfume that is so me. At my recommendation, Sadiq got himself Calvin Klein's Truth.

Oei HARON: If got people say that your minyak wangi smell nice, must tell them I chose for you tau!

Hmm...maybe I should set up a business on image consulting & grooming. Too many of my friends making use of my talent. Hahaha!

We also bought titbits, instant noodles (for my night shift!) and groceries. Talk about late night shopping! This is just the beginning. I'm asking Liah to shop with me next week. IF our shifts allow, that is. :)

No Deadline For Me, Please?

After working for 2 days (it feels like 20), I'm off again today. Then I have to tahan till next week, before my next off. Never mind. I'm tempted to go for mild retail therapy coz I'm stressed out at work these days (Good excuse, I know). I woke up early, went to Far East Plaza to do pedicure & manicure. Followed Kartini all the way to Bedok for a job interview but in the end, the weather was soooo hot & humid that she couldn't bear to walk around finding the building. Hahaha! So we went to Bedok, just to have a KFC lunch. How duh, right? Decided to return to Orchard area coz...I need to shop! It has become like a disorder already. We went to La Senza at Paragon & I bought a few stuff. So happy with my buys. And Kartini was giving me a lesson on the "unique" lingerie at La Senza. So hilarious! She was telling me to be more "adventurous". Gosh! That's sooo Kartini, lorr.

Seems like a lot of people are getting hitched this year, huh? Let's see, who's on my list so far.

July: Charlene & Maria's sister
August: My cousin
Nov: Kartini
Dec (I think): Sandra Wong

I guess it's my first time attending so many weddings in a year! Exciting. Hehe!

If you think that I've been going out too much nowadays (from all those makan gatherings I blogged about), it's not enough! My upcoming "schedule":

Friday (29/6): Drinking session with Aisah & colleagues. She's going back to school.

Sunday (1/7): Sue's farewell dinner. My buddy is leaving Conrad! *sob sob*

Somewhere in the next 2 weeks: Scandaling, gossping & makan-ing with Dahlia, Suliana & Kartini. I haven't seen Dahlia since Hari Raya last year worr....

Still pending:
Meet up with Nasir. The last time I saw him was years & years ago!.
Short trip with Liah (IF we can go. Haha!)
Spa retreat with Maria, Fizah & Suliana
Coffee with Ayos
Bitching with Justin, Wayne & Siti. (I miss you all!)
Movie with Person C. (I may "chicken" out)

Alas...despite being busy with work (long hours, crappy shifts), I will still make time for the gorgeous friends. Just one thing though, be patient for your turn, hokays? *winks*

Relive The Poly Days

So my poly classmates finally had a gathering on Friday at Hilton's Checkers Cafe. My impression of that place: The first & the last time ever. Let me tell you why. When I called to make reservation, a fella wasn't aware of dining discount for staff. I mean, if you aren't aware of credit card promotions, I can still forgive. But he's an employee! Never mind. And when a manager called back (I still remember the name), the tone he used on me is as if Conrad staff owe him money! Insisted on some "document" to validate that I'm working with the Conrad. Like hello...as if I'm not smart enough to know that I just need my ID with me? He said that it's good to have the F & B or HR department to write a letter to them. *rolls eyes*

I was so tempted to cancel the reservation but since Sandra thought of trying Hilton's, I just went ahead with it. They called me again a few days later & a few times, to confirm my reservation & the discount. Couldn't get me on my hp, they called me at work! It was infuriating! Best part, called my hp at 8.30 am on Friday itself to "remind" me of my reservation. I know it's for 15 pax. I know it's a Friday evening. I know I am a Conrad staff. But I don't call my guests at 8.30 am to confirm a reservation & you're calling yourself...the Hilton?! NOW, I feel good I'm working with the Conrad brand. *winks*

I arrived late coz I was held up at work. As I entered the cafe, the manager could somehow figure out who I am & introduced himself. He thanked me for coming & I replied sarcastically, "And thank you for calling me up so many times to confirm the reservation & the discount". He tried to explain but I just nod my head, giving him the " whatever" look. It was a seafood theme that night. Honestly, I was disappointed with the spread. Oriental's & Marina Mandarin's are waaaay much better. Even though Oscar's is more expensive, I wish I had suggested Oscar's instead. So, the makan experience...a BIG NO NO to Checker's. Sorry guys.

Sharon, myself & Jezebel. I haven't seen Sharon for like the longest time!

Some of us still look the same...like in good poly days. But Justin always change his hairstyle. As frequent as he change his undergarments, I bet!

Fizah loves taking candid pictures! No..actually she just love posing. Hehe!

The ladies in black.

Maria was being funny. She gave a demo on how to remove prawn shells. Jezebel even have it on record!

She's happy with her prawn now. :)

Class TO2 (2000-2003), Temasek Polytechnic.

Not in presence: Jovy (on flight), Justina (un-contactable), Kiran (un-contactable), Edith (un-contactable...but a tai tai I heard), Peter (stuck in camp!) & Yinglang (studying in Aussie). I miss those days...when we went to different schools (Design, ITAS, Engineering & Business) to lunch. And the time when we rushed for projects, skipped lectures...Hahaha. ..so fun.

After the not-so-shiok dinner, we went to Starbucks Liat Towers. (We sat at the cafe till quite late. THAT same manager said that he thought we gonna help him set up breakfast. So irritating, right?!)

Annie is working at Ritz Carlton & only the 2 of us are hoteliers. We entertained the rest with interesting stories about our job. Indeed, our work is THAT exciting. :)

The 2 married ladies & the swinging bachelorette.

The Hotelier No. 1, the SQ girl No. 1 (Jovy is No. 2), the soon-to-be Bummer & Hotelier No. 2!

Fizah, Shijia & Yumi. I realise, not all of us choose to be in tourism industry after school. Hmmmm~

**********************************************

Met Maria & Fizah again just now. We watched Fantastic 4 (I love it!) & had Rex chicken rice for dinner. Window shopped a bit at Plaza Singapura before heading down to Clarke Quay for drinks. I saw Fizah's Bali pictures & I so wanna go to Bali again! But I thought of going to somewhere I haven't been to before. Mr Weird suggested Koh Samui next month (Full Moon Party, people!). I don't think I can make it, seeing the number of people left at work. Anyway, Fizah is going to Tunisia in Aug ley...Best nyer! Let me Google on the great places to go. Hehe!

Liah: Start your research also, can? :)

Thank God It's Wednesday!

Liah & I strived to finish our work chop chop today coz we both have errands to run. Busy day as usual but it was still fun coz I had Liah, Frankie, Aisah & Tom on shift. Cracked lotsa jokes & of course, with our dearest Malaysian (feeling Singaporean) colleague, Chandran, things can get even crankier!

I don't normally bring my hp up to front desk coz I can't answer calls while I'm on duty anyway. Had a shock when I saw 15, mind you, FIFTEEN missed calls on my hp. I don' recall having so much missed calls ever. I thought something happened at home. Saw the numbers... 3 from Maria & 12 from Mr Weird. And Maria sms-ed, asking where I am coz she & Mr Weird wanna meet me. I wondered what could be the matter. Guess what...it was just to ask me out for coffee! Wah lau eh... No need for 12 calls from one person larr. SOMEONE must be dying to meet me. Hahaha!

Joined those 2 at Wheelock Place's Coffee Bean but I didn't get any coffee...Coz I don't like Coffee Bean. :) Only Starbucks work for me. And damn....Mr. Weird still owe me coffee lorr...Had "interesting" conversation with them, especially when I won hands down in my sarcasm towards Mr. Weird. Right, Maria? Hehe... More to come, buddy.

Just Music

Spent Father's Day at home with the folks. I bought KFC & dad got satay & tahu bakar. Nice nice, especially when you makan together-gether with your loved ones. I'm eating well nowadays...I just hope it doesn't show on my tummy!

Called Sandra & confirmed our long awaited poly class gathering this Friday at the Hilton's. I'm sooooo excited! I haven't been catching up with my classmates for ages. I'm contented to meet Fizah, Maria & Sze Luan occasionally. I'm trying to change the occasionally to often though. :)
Plus, I gonna have a movie cum chit-chat session with Maria & Fizah on Saturday. Maria just got back from Sabah & Fizah, from Bali. So you can imagine what we gonna talk about larr, huh?

I watched a repeat telecast of Anugerah Planet Muzik 07 & was surprised that Imran Ajmain is the one who sings Seribu Tahun. I mean, not that I know the tittle of the song before this also coz I haven't been listening to the radio for donks ( be it the English or Malay channel). I only managed to get a earful of these songs when I'm preparing for work. In between brushing my teeth or snacking before I dash for the door. Haha! Anyway, there're a few Malay songs that I find nice but never getta know who sings them or at least, the tittle. So, when I heard him sang THAT song at the award show, I was so ecstatic! And guess what, Suliana knew about it long time ago & she has his CD! I bothered to meet up with her the next morning to borrow the CD, seh. Haha. And Imran is cute. *winks* That's not the whole point, hokays. His songs are beautiful. Great local talent.

And then, and then....I "discover" this song by Bhumiband (I heard the name before but not their songs. I know I'm slow). OMG! It gave me adrenalin rushes! I'm NOT exaggerating here. Even when I told Naz how I felt about the song & he finds it hard to imagine. *makes a face* Liah gave me the duh look too. Oh well, I've always like to put music into my soul & connects with it spiritually. Hhmmm, sounds corny but never mind! Hehe!

So what's playing these days: Imran Ajmain & Bhumiband. :)

Good Monday Vibes

If I can buy Toto or 4D, I tell you...I buy today's date already! Usually people are down with Monday blues, right? Hehe...I had a pleasant Monday. I wasn't on duty for the past few days coz I'm training the new staff on Fidelio system. I don't like training but..sometimes it's better than working.

I just came in to the back office, & Lynn asked me, "Why are you so made-up nowadays? " But the only difference was that I had my SQ blue eye-shadow on. "I always put on make-up, what", I replied. She added, "You look different". Hehe...in a good way, I assume.

After work, I made appointment to trim my hair with my permanent stylist, May. You know they said that your hairstylist has to be your good friend too? That's so true! May has been cutting my hair for the past few yrs & she knows exactly what's my taste like & which style suits me best. So when I walked into the salon & sat down, she looked at me & paused.

May: You're getting prettier, ley!
Me: Huh? Where got...
May: You just look...different. (See? Again...DIFFERENT)
Me (laughing) : So in what way I'm different?
May: Your eyebrows?
Me: My eyebrows has always been the same lorr.
(But the last time, I thread it at Rupini's & lotsa people said it's nice. So I shall stick to Rupini's. Hehe! )

May: You put on eye-shadow!
Me: But I've been putting on eye-shadow....(sounding sian now)
May: I know...it's how you're dressed!
Me: Hhmm...actually, that sounds believable. I must admit that I'm on the road to revamp my wardrobe.
May (still so enthusiastic) : Good... Also, what's important is that you must be happy! You not happy..you stressed...no matter how you try to change your dressing also no use.

Haha! Then she couldn't stop. As she was cutting my hair, she chatted about her family, her life & she gave me a looooong advice about relationship, marriage & well-being. Gosh, I haven't seen that side of May in my years of knowing her. We normally don't talk about this kinda personal stuff, you see. Funny May. I was talking to Suliana on the phone about May (she knows her as well) & she said that..."You finally see the blessing in disguise". Haha...I got what she mean. *winks*

Kakak Ani came over to my place to show us the video of Mamat's wedding. I saw how Mamat has to repeat 4 times before the kadi went..."Sah!". Haha! My dad said that usually, guys are nervous at that point coz they are reminded of the huge responsibility they've to shoulder as the head of the family. Hmmm...I see.

F.R.U.S.T.

Didn't thought of updating my blog today UNTIL I chatted with Liah awhile ago. It's about 2 fellas who are deceitful. No..I'm not talking about any of my colleagues here & I also don't wanna divulge their identities. Anyway, Liah was telling me how nice these 2 buggers are (a few months back) & how she hope one of them could change her life. Never mind if nothing came out of it but how can they be so... dishonest?! Eeeww...I feel so angry for my dear Melati. Tsk...I just dislike it when other human beings take we nice people for granted. Those 2 better go & play far far away from now on.

Liah: You don't need their friendship, hokays! We shall all be happier without them. Hmmph!

I have my bout of frustration too. I wanna talk to Person A, but Person A is too busy. Person B is trying to get my attention, but it won't be easy in future. Person C is working hard to know me better, but there's nothing much I can do about it. Person D & me...we're happy the way we are now. Person E will always be my good friend.

Haha...Follow what I'm talking about? No? It's ok..Neither do I. Lalalaa....

And So It Is

I just read Suliana's latest entry on her Multiply. It's like WOW. She's so so agitated! Didn't expect that from her. Really. I understand where she's coming from & trust me, if it's months ago, I could even be worse than her. Anyway, I am okay. I had a choice to read or not...& I chose to. I don't intend to start a blog war with that couple coz it's so not worth it. My conscience is clear & the fact that that fella is bringing her to places I brought him...it just means he can't forget me. THAT is already victory itself. Haha...shiok neh! So people, let's just relax one corner & laugh out loud (Oh... Liah, Frankie, Tanglin, Nickole, Lavanya, Sue & me already did our share of laughing in the back office). I'll need to convince Siti & Suliana to join in the fun too, which will not be easy. Hmmm~

It was Emily's last day yesterday! Kinda sad to see her leave. She was doing her clearance just now & she refused to let me hug her. Actually, I'd rather not see her as well coz I don't wish to cry. I thanked her for all the advice & concern she has shown me throughout my entire career at Conrad. *Sniffs*

Kak Emily: All the best in your future endeavors. Will always remember the good times we had at work. I appreciate the guidance & take care, hokays. Keep in touch. :)

Oh...I think I bingo-ed the sms that Mr Weird sent (thanks to Liah!) . But he still won't tell me if it's right or wrong. Bloody hell...as exciting as it can be, it's making me frustrated. I don't like to guess without proper clues. *grimaces*

Off Day Specials

Liah & I went to JB yesterday. We 2 girls were on off & she's been wanting to go to Tebrau City for the longest time. I went once with Suliana late last yr so I thought I'd just bring Liah this time around. Had our tai-tai lunch at Italianies, window shopped a bit & then had our usual dose of Starbucks. Hehe...the Starbucks mamats were looking at we both like they haven't see girls before. Liah & I were gossiping & giggling like Pri. 2 kids. We left JB at about 7pm & arranged to meet our boyan counterpart, Sadiq, at CCK. I decided to give Liah a kampong name too, just like how I call Suliana, Bedah. Liah's will be Mawar/Melati/Yatimah. (So indecisive!) Sadiq's will be...HARON. Nice right? Hahaha! Anyhow, I had a good evening with those 2 fellas yesterday. :)

Invited Suliana over to my place for lunch just now. We had mee bandung & pisang goreng gula. No..I'm not the one who cooked. *rolls eyes* We were flipping through old pics & laughing so hard about them. She said I look so much better now (but of course larr!).

Came across someone's blog. Heh...the world is really so small. Hmmm...this person blogs like me, she likes certain things that I do & she wanna go to places that I have been to. Pure coincidence? Haha...I don't think so, especially if you know who she is. Everyone is different in their own way. But if to the point she has the same Birkenstock sandals that I have, happens to also like the same Starbucks beverage as me AND wanna go to the 2 countries I went this yr (including the kinda people I went with)...well, I don't remember having a twin. I also wouldn't want a twin like her! Just see how glad I am that my sis & me don't look alike & we don't go for the same stuff. Anyway my friends, this person is not important in my life & so is the person that is with her now. You all know what kinda person I am...& that's all that matters. If there's someone else who inspire to be like me OR there're buggers out there who wanna change their girlfriends to be like me...I can't help it, lorr. I guess I have THE personality then. *winks*

I told my dad about the above AND the identity of the girl. My dad just shook his head & laughed. He said...

"Whoa Ain... you mean he found someone like you? So easy ah?! But too bad, my daughter is the original one! Make sure you find someone better than him, ok?"

I'm sure you can guess my reply. :)

P/s (Part 1): Mr Weird sent me an sms...in malay! And I don't understand. Not that I can't read (I topped the malay class every yr, hokays!) but it's just too...cheem?. Tsk.. I gonna give up deciphering his sms. Already use so much of my brain cells at work & now I have to guess sms-es?? That's why I don't bother reading The Da Vinci Code.

P/s (Part 2): Saiful asked me to accompany him to pierce his eyebrow, but I wasn't free. Hmmm...I wonder if he has done it? He did it before larr...but he hasn't been wearing the ring for some time so he has to pierce again. Same goes for the one on his tongue. Oh yeah, I told him he looked good with the pierced brow. Not like a mamat at all! Hahaha...

Tribute To My Fellow Cousins

After Mamat's wedding just now, I suddenly feel how fast time flies. We were all just a bunch of kids (seems like only few yrs ago) & now, we have grown up, setting up families of our own. Well, I have this idea of showing off pics of our "glorious" days....but don't laugh, ok? I for sure was one pretty kid. Hahaha! In my previous entry, I did mention somewhere that Mamat was part of the "batch" for mischief acts, right? Besides him & me, there were Sulaiman, Eis, Aas, Fauzi & Ayos (See? The nicknames already so kental!)

Ayos is my cousin on my maternal side so..he wasn't in much contact with the rest. And..me, being the ONLY girl among my cousins at that time, you can imagine how rugged I was. I'm still closest to Ayos though & so...if he gets hitched, I think I'll be so touched that I tear! (Ayos: I'll do a huge spread on my blog about you when it's your turn, yah? Now go find that someone first! )

Let's start with:

Me & lil sis. She has such small eyes that I'm always thankful my eyes are big. Haha.

Mamat is the one in the top right pic, doing a salute. And when I was a kid, I already love riding bikes. Partner in crime was Ayos. The way I sat & ate with the boys...made me look like them!

I heard from my mom they "stole" the hats from their elder sisters. Above is Mamat & Sulaiman during their golden days. They were super cute, can? :)

Sulaiman had that smug look..I guess he was thinking of kicking me off that swinging thingy & ride it on his own! I was like breathing hard larr...coz he was very very heavy!! Have to shake harder ley! Classic right? We were so orh-bit chit chit last time, huh? *winks*

And he still has his hands around my shoulders when we took photo at Mamat's wedding, like in the pic above. He was soooo fat, right??! *Laughs out loud* I bet he was feeling abang-abang larr. Don't worry, Sulaiman...you' re still good looking. Your turn's next. Yay!!!

*********************************

I had a chat with Suliana yesterday & I asked her, if guys were to ask what kinda girl I am, what reply will she say to them. And she said that...I'm the best girl any guy can have. Haha...so touching-mouching larr! Seeing the sincerity & knowing that she's not trying to angkat me, I almost cried. :) Even after me scolding her for forever being late, she still has something wonderful to say about me. That's my best friend of 11 yrs.

Anyway, had coffee at Starbucks Changi Airport. The guy who made my drink is pleasant looking. Can he brew coffee for me his entire life? Haha....outright corny!! And no...I didn't say that to the barista. Siao ah?!

Mamat's Wedding!

So, my cousin, Mamat got married today! The nikah was yesterday larr, but my mom said I have a choice to come today or yesterday...so I chose TODAY! It was a hot & sunny afternoon & thank God I was wearing a comfortable baju for the wedding. My sis & bro were helping out as kendarat (I escaped!). The whole ceremony seems like another Hari Raya gathering. I'm prepared to be attacked with questions by the aunties & uncles who will DEFINITELY ask when's my turn to get married (they did ask, of course). Luckily, I still have my cousins, Sulaiman & Ayos who're older than me & still unmarried. So I gave them as excuses. Haha...anyway, I told them straight that I'm not seeing anyone at the moment. Bik Yah & Cik Azan asked me about so & so, but I just shrugged & told them things are not meant to be lorr. Other than the marriage questions, the whole time I was there was quite nice. :)

My lil sis & I! I know...we do NOT look alike, right? Which is good.

Here they come! But they don't seem to be ready yet....

Yes....they are walking down the aisle. I mean, the walkway. Hehe!

So sweet. Mamat is finally married! I remember those days we were younger. Same sec. sch some more. And he guided me in Chemistry & A.Maths!

The mat kompangs & the mat kompang silat. Hmm...there's one who's not bad looking. :)

The cousins! There are more of us larr, but they were either nowhere in sight or they were too shy to take pictures. Tsk...Mamat only marry once ley! (Insyallah)

Me & Izzati. She's a smart girl...like me. Hahaha!

It's Sulaiman's turn next time! (After Eis's in Aug) He's Mamat's younger bro, by the way. This fella is funny larr & still as jagung sometimes. I seldom meet him but when we do, my first line to him will be "Sulaiman...how come you're getting fatter??". And he'll reply..."Handsome what". Hahaha! Only his Watie can tahan him I guess. :)

My parents feeling also...macam just got married. As long as they're happy larr....

The kendarat people having their meals. If you realise, the wedding couple are feeding each other on the top left hand corner of the pic, Sulaiman & gf on the top right & the kids are eating happily! How harmonious, right?!

Let me post this shot to recognize their effort for clearing the dishes & cleaning the whatnots...

The gubahan & hantaran items! My mom was the excited one about these stuff. She even dragged me to see it coz of what, you know? Just to SEE SEE. Like...duh *rolls eyes*. I told my mom that when it's my turn, THEN I'll be interested. Gosh....is your mom like mine too??? Hehe....but my mummy is a wonderful lady, hokays. Anyway, congrats to Mamat & Jannah! May you have a blissful marriage & a lifetime of happiness. Insyallah.

Friendship Week

Despite the tiredness from my night shifts this week, I still make time to catch up with my friends. Good...it's definitely a good week larr, for my social life. But work was quite sucky, coz I met cranky people. Anyway, let's don't go there.

I went for dinner at Sakae Sushi with Jovy & Sze Luan last Tuesday. I was excited to meet Jovy coz I haven't seen her for a year, I think. She's still as pretty, I even said she looks like the Mediacorp actress, Ong Aileng. Haha! We thought it's rather nice that we can still chat merrily even though we don't meet often. You know, some people may find it..awkward? And when Jovy & I meet, we'll lament about the kinda people we meet in the course of our work. Haha....the similarities are there, hor?

Ms SQ & me. :)

I looked so bright seh...

I brought my camera along & was in the mood to snap pics at the back office. Liah was on night shift too AND she also brought her camera! What else....we joked around & start posing larr. Work is a bore without these people....

And then, Charlene asked Nickole, Sue & me out for dinner at Marina Mandarin. Again, I indulged in the good buffet dinner of this restaurant called Aquamarine. I can feel the kilos of my weight increasing. Sheesh! Anyhow, Charlene is getting married next month! So I guess this will be her last bachelorette outing with us.

I'm going out with Suliana later. It's the bonding session with my best friend (I tell you, it's a friendship week for me). And my dearest cousin, Mamat (his real name is Nasir) is getting married tomorrow! He's just 3 yrs older than me & we all were in the same "batch" of mischief acts when we were kids. So what does that mean? My relatives will ask...when's my turn to get married. Arrggh! I don't like. Hmmmm~
