Busy Supper..

I just came back from supper with my colleagues. Had nasi lemak from this famous stall at Boon Lay. Kartini had to wait for me & Farah for 2 hours coz we were busy at work today. Anyway, let's talk about THE nasi lemak. There was a long queue, & a couple of guys in front of us ordered like extra rice for the nasi lemak. Gosh..was it THAT good? So, when I finally got to taste it..hmm..nice! The rice taste a bit like chicken rice but the fragrance was like wow..The sambal is sweet, spicy & yet, addictive. The fried chicken that I took taste great as well. The uncle at the stall even joked with me.."Take whatever you want & express your feelings for the food. If you're scared of getting fat, excercise on Sunday". Hahaha..

On top of that, it was my last day at work too. Very very sad, but I didn't cry. My colleagues were nice...they bought me a silver bracelet( which I like very much!) & a silver earrings to go along. I bought thank-you cards for them & placed it in their in-tray. I took pics with them & when I got back home & looked at the pics..we do look like young school girls! I think I'll print out the pics & place it somewhere in my room. :)

Will be clubbing with them this Friday night. Yippee!!

It Only Just Begun

Well, apparently, I'm NOT the only one resigning. There are a few others, who, have already tendered way before me. It's scary..or should I say pure coincidence that few of my colleagues are leaving around the same time. Either that, they are cross-training to other departments. I guess we are getting sick of the same job, same crap & yet, more to come.

My colleague hugged me just now, as she's going on leave and won't see me till my last day of work. She started crying & being me, I cried too. The rest of them started to cry when realised that one of our bosses is also leaving. In fact, it was his last day today! He gave a little "speech" & we all just slumped in our seats. Touched & ...sad. But we have to move on...no matter how tough it may be. I feel the pain of leaving my colleagues even before it's my last day. I'll miss them... :(

I'm looking forward to my weekend though. Going shopping for new clothes, run errands, meet Superhero & hanging out with my best friend. Try not to think about next week larr...

Star Gazing & Starbucks Coffee~

I was working night shift last weekend, & Superhero took me out for dinner before my shift. Thought of going to the Singapore Fashion Festival but it's only for invites. Orchard Rd was super duper packed as usual. We were tired of walking, so we made our way to Millenia Walk for some coffee.

It was a wonderful evening indeed. Superhero had his Caramel Frap while I had Iced Caramel Machiatto. Together, we sat outdoor & tuned in to my Nano. I entertained Superhero with my antics & I moved my body occassionally to the songs. Haha..the simple thing in life~ Watching the stars (saw a bit despite being blocked by tall buildings), drinking cofffee, good conversation & my fav songs to add!

I got a new job somewhere, somehow. So I'll be leaving my current job next week! I hope eveything will turn out okay. A bit worried but then again, if I don't try, I'll never know. Superhero is VERY happy for me, as if he's the one getting a new job. I'm sad to leave my colleagues though... :(

Again..I pray for a better tomorrow~

Gloomy Wednesday

Work was fairly alright, everyday is like the same to me (Work wise I mean). I received a sms from someone during my lunch break & I became speechless after I read it. I stared into space for awhile at my locker area coz I didn't know what to do or what to think. I felt like crying though.

When I got back up to office, my colleagues asked why I seemed to be in a dreamy mode. A guest actually approached for a request & I couldn't answer him properly. I just wanted my shift to end quickly.

You know...I'm sad & dissapointed. Don't ask me why or what happened. I guess I need to find myself first... :(

I pray it'll be a better tomorrow~

Super Supper

It's 3.45 am on Monday morning. I just came back from supper with my colleagues at Lau Pa Sat. Actually, I'm very broke this month, but I still join them for supper coz I don't wanna be the wet blanket. Everyone worked hard today. Typical Sunday, with lotsa arrivals. We worked fast though, but stayed back a bit to help the midnighters as there were only 2 staff working for the night shift. It was almost midnight that we left to head for supper.

We ordered satay for sharing & the rest of my colleagues had spaghetti, fried rice etc. I didn't eat so much coz I was afraid that I'll have nightmares when I get home to sleep. Hehe..(Bad experience before). Anyway, all of us sat till around 2.30am, gossiping & laughing merrily. Farah, Frankie & Daniel were drinking beer, & poor Daniel had a hard time finishing his glass. We "grilled" him with questions about his social life & I guess..that got him nervous. Tsk tsk tsk..

Oh well...nice to hang out after work in the wee hours SOMETIMES. This is what we call..de-stressing. :)

Bright, Bright Tuesday!

It's very rare that I update my blog twice in 1 day but well, this is MY blog. So..I shall update it when I feel like doing it. Hehe...

Went to my skin doctor for my facial extraction today. Oh gosh, he used laser and some kinda tool to take out the clomodones (that's what he calls) or blackheads from my face. It's not that painful but the session made my hair stand! Everytime I hear the sound of the laser machine & felt that my skin squeezed tightly, it's quite scary. But if I want to look good, must willing to endure!

Met Superhero for a movie. We watched "Rumours Has It" & the movie is funny, sweet & a bit emotional. One of the best movies I watched this year. Jennifer Aniston is beautifully crappy & the movie has some parts that make me cry. Yes, I cried..& Superhero smiled. He knew I would cry. Thanks for the tissues though. :)

Brought Superhero to Tambuah Mas for some Indonesian food for dinner. He was shocked to see a big fried fish (it wasn't big at all for me). I figured..either he eats lotsa rice or he hardly see fish. Hehehe~

Sleepless Again In The Morning

I couldn't sleep again! It's my off day today & I'm awake since 7am already..Kept tossing & turning but still couldnt get back to dreamland. My feet is aching from all the standing at my work place & I'm getting hungry too. So, I decided to order breakfast from MacDonalds.

Me : Hi..I would like to order breakfast.

MacD : Sure, your phone no. please?

Me : ******** (I told her my home no.)

MacD : Just a moment, just a moment, can you repeat again?

Me : ********

MacD : Just a second, Ma'am. (She put the call on hold)

MacD : Sorry Ma'am, my system hanged. Can I have your no. again?

Me (Slowly) : Oh ok... It's *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

So, I ordered for myself, my mom, sis & maid too.

MacD : Sorry again Ma'am, we don't serve hotcakes because the machine is spoilt.

Me (Astonished) : You mean the entire Singapore has no hotcakes??!!!

MacD: No Ma'am, only your area don't serve hotcakes right now.

Me (Still astonished) : Nevermind, I'll get something else then.

MacD : Oh sorry Ma'am, it's actually not the hotcakes. They just ran out of maple syrup.

Me : Ok..it doesn't matter. I'll still get the hotcakes then.

MacD : Sorry again Ma'am.

I should have just walked to the malay stall & buy breakfast myself...

Sunday Morning ~ Out Of The Ordinary

I just finished my round of night shift yesterday. The last night was a hellish one. My colleague pissed me off BIG time & I couldn't wait for the night to end. It was very busy too so..it was definitely not a good night.

Anyway, I woke up extremely early today. It was 5am! I couldn't sleep anymore because I was doing night shifts few days before. I heard my dad getting ready to go to the market. (Yes, my dad's the one who goes to market every Sunday). He asked if I wanna come along, so I was like.."Why not?". He took me to the market which is near our old place. It's VERY VERY rare for me to follow him to the market. So rare that he said he's not surprised if the fish "might jump to the plastic bag itself". Haha...

Gosh..I'm getting all the deja vu feeling. Lotsa things have changed.. I saw my sec. sch. & I miss those days when me & my classmates would go out for lunch & then came back again for remedial lessons. My dad even asked me if I remember the path around my sch. that I ran for my fitness test. It's been 10 good years since I was in Sec. 1. Maybe I should pay the sch. a visit one of these days...

Let's sidetrack a bit..I had a weird dream last night. I remember that it was a sad one..concerning my love life. Till now, when I think about it, my heart aches. Hmmm~

Handphone Is New!

Well, someone from Nokia Care Centre called to say that my handphone is "beyond repair". I couldn't believe my ears at first & thought that it sound funny. But anyways..I have no choice but..to get a new handphone! Actually, I'm VERY broke, especially after my shopping trip in Thailand. I have no choice though, coz I need a phone badly.

So, just before my night shift, I dropped by Nokia shop to get my old phone back & buy a new one. The guy at Nokia shop willing to buy my useless phone for $30. It's better than bringing the phone back & keeping it for my grandchildren. Haha.. Let's talk about my new one. It's Nokia 7360. It's kinda "fashionable" & chic..so different for me. I wanted the N70 but my budget is super tight this month. Superhero said that I don't need such a high end phone. Should have ask him to sponsor me a bit. If I look good with my new handphone, he'll be proud of me too. :)

Surprise, Surprise~

When I met Superhero after his work yesterday, he surprised me with a small gift. It felt light, so I thought it might be a box of chocolates. He gave a little clue in the card that he wrote & I have a feeling I knew what it was. But anyway, I only opened the gift when I reached home. It's an I-Dog! Gosh..now I have a speaker for my Nano & somehting cute to play with. Haha.. Superhero is really nice. :) I'm thinking of giving the I-Dog a name..maybe.."Dodol" or "Chibo". Only Superhero understood the meaning of these nick names. Hehe..

My handphone is spoilt! Gosh..I was drinking coffee at Starbucks & it just went blank. I sent it for repair at the Nokia Care Centre & I was just told that I need to pay about $150 for all the upgrading works. Gee...Should I get a new handphone or repair the old one???? Let me wonder & ponder about it over the weekend...

Went for my ex-colleague's wedding at Chjimes this morning. It was a very simple fare, & yet a romantic one. I haven't attend a church wedding before so this one was a real eye opener. When the bride walked down the aisle, she was glowing with happiness so much that she had tears in her eyes. I feeling emotional worr..so I amost cried too! Haha! I wish the bride & groom a lifetime of happiness & joy. :)

"Shop Till I Almost Drop" Trip

Yes! I'm back from Thailand! It was a 5 days 4 nights trip to Bangkok & Pattaya. I never shopped so much in my entire life. I guess all that shopping can last me the entire year. :) Anyway, I said I will upload the pics..so here they are...

We took this mini van which works like a taxi around the city of Pattaya. It's cheap & convenient! Just climb from the back..hahaha~ 

I'm reading up on the tourists' guide book on Pattaya..while Vinny is missing in action.  

The resort has their own private beach and 2 superb pools! I can't wait to soak myself in the water.. 

Aisawan Resort in Pattaya. My room is surrounded by lush gardens..Nice nice.. 

I came with 1 backpack & I'm leaving with 2 bags. Both are filled fully, yah! Moving on to Pattaya..

Bangkok is so full of traffic jams! Be it night or day..

The Long Awaited Holiday

Yay! I'm finally going for my vacation tomorrow! When I cleared my stuff at work today, I already started feeling the vibes. It does feel good to be away from work for a while. Come to think of it, this is my first time applying for a long leave. It's 8 days in total. I wanted to clear the entire week next week, but unfortunately, Hotel's gonna be busy soon. So, I'll be back next Sunday. In the mean time..Thailand...here I come!

The Big Day

Oh well, after the 3 months wait, I'm finally passing over my cross exposure to my colleague. I felt quite overwhelmed on my way to work today. It's like..something that was on my burden list gonna be relieved. But I believe I'll miss my group co-ordinator days. You know, the flexible hours & the somewhat privacy in that little room at the back office. I won't miss the long working hours though!

I'll be going on my vacation in 4 days time! How exciting.. :)

Turned 23

Superhero took me to a movie & a wonderful dinner on my birthday last week. We caught this French movie about a guy driving his dad to Mecca for the pilgrimage. Quite a touching story, something nice to watch on My Day.

He won't tell me where's and what's for dinner, but in the end, as he doesn't know what bus to take, he told me dinner's at Kallang. I was hoping it's not Igor's or Cosy Bay as I didn't really hear good feedback from these "makan" places. We took a cab to Indoor Stadium, walked a bit and he pointed to a cute North Indian restaurant at the Stadium Waterfront. It's called Vansh & is a sister restaurant to Rang Mahal (one of the famous North Indian restaurant here). We orderded a few dishes and naan to go along. Got complimentary dessert for my birthday as well. Service is good, food is superb & the ambience is nice. So...I'm coming back again! Thanks to my Superhero... :)

2 More Weeks!

Yay! 2 more weeks & I'm done with my cross exposure! After which, I gonna "buddy" my colleague for 5 days & then I'm going off on a holiday! Gee..I can't hardly wait. This week was a long one. Sighs..I was stressed out so I did some changes to my hair! i cut it a bit & did some highlights too. All for my birthday next week! Hehe..

Went to watch the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha" with Superhero just now. Like he said, the movie was released & yet I haven't finish reading the book. I try lorr... Very hard though. Books make me sleepy these days..

A Maid In The House!

Guess what?! My family's ever first maid has stepped into our home! I came back around 9pm & I saw her for the first time. Before that I already spoke to my sis & dad, they seemed impressed by the maid. She's an Indonesian & we called her Siti. She's only a few mths older than me. Looks fine to me. Well, the most important thing is that she can take care of my mom & the household (Yes..I don't do housework).

I'll be busy this week..Prepare to start early at work & end late. But it's just 3 more wks & then I'll pass over the duties to a colleague. And then..I'm going on a HOLIDAY! Yay! I like that... :)

Gadget Gal 2006

Whoa..I tell you, my sis just bought a digital camera yesterday. It's Panasonic Lumix FX9. The look is as nice as the price. So..since I'm on off today, I decided to explore the camera! That explains the cute pictures below. Hehe...

I met Superhero after work last night. Gosh..he was just wearing bermudas & a polo-T BUT he put on his so called "new" shoes (not exactly very new coz he bought it last June but only wore it twice). Hmmm..he looked good (yes, he knew it). Told him many times to change that nerdy specs of his but he just won't listen to me. He claimed that the specs went through "thick & thin" with him. I should ask him to frame the specs larr.. or better still, donate it to the MUSEUM. Haha..I think the museum also don't need it. But anyways, Superhero still look dashing. :)

Make Up & Books

I'm trying to pick up my reading habits again, but kinda hard coz I'll always feel sleepy whenever I read. It's not like during school days anymore. The books that's stacking on my desk are "Memoir of A Geisha" (I told Superhero that I might as well just watch the movie as it's coming out soon!) and " The Sky is Crazy" by Yvonne Lee. Occasionally, I read magazines to get ideas on cosmetics (again?!) & fashion. :)

Here come more of my M.A.C collection... I have the eye-shadow compact that contain 6 different colours & 2 eye-shadow pots. Someone told me before that I should make an effort to add colour around my eyes since they are big & round. Haha.. it's my asset worr! However, nowadays I prefer to just use an eye liner coz it's much faster & simpler. No mascara for me please.

M.A.C has a wide range of blushers & the one that I'm using now (the biggest pot in the pic) has been with me for almost 4 years! I'm not kidding..but it may also due to the fact that I don't normally touch up my face. The lipglass is wonderfull too...makes my lips all natural yet glossy. Hehe...I'm "forced" to wear lipstick though.

M.A.C is a must have for me! I'm known as the "spokesperson' for this brand of cosmetics among my colleagues. Haha..basically, I like M.A.C coz of it's variety. So, here I have the M.A.C sheer compact powder & concealer. I seldom wear foundation though. Not a favourite.

My first Kiehl's product ever! It's a moisturiser that I use to apply on my face before any other make-up. Honestly..I love this moisturiser a lot coz it's very light & oil free. Although the texture is creamy but it doesn't give me the "stuck on my face" feeling. Cost S$50 but can last very long...Worth buying.

First Entry of the Year!

Oh well, honestly, Superhero is the one who keep asking me to update my blog. He finds joy in reading my entries though I do tell him the stories here myself when I talk to him. Hmm..I think that's kinda sweet. :)

New Year celebration not that fanstastic for me this time around. I was working on the eve, then went home as I was so tired. Wanted to do the count down with my colleagues, but changed my mind. So in the end, I welcomed 2006 with my family, my computer & Superhero( on the phone).

I'm just waiting for 5th Feb. That'll be the last day of my cross-exposure as a group co-ordinator. After I passed over my stuff to the next one, I'll be going for a VACATION! I'm so excited! I shall not tell you guys where I'm going yet...Hopefully I'd be able to upload the pictures & then you people will know. :)

I'm turning a year older this month. Tsk.. it worries me as my age increase. I mean..who doesn't? So many wants & needs with limited resources. My good friend from Poly are getting married this June! Gosh..& she told me that the whole ceremony almost cost her $20K. Gee..not that I can't wait to get married but the amount does scare me. I hardly save for myself let alone for MARRIAGE. God..please help me, give me better luck & fortune (to shop & more vacation!). Hehe...

New Year Resolutions

Gee..I'm right on time. I promised a friend that I'll post my new year resolutions on my blog, just to make it official. Been busy & tired the past week that I almost forgot to ponder & wonder for my resolutions. Hmm..let's see...

1. Find a job.
-Maybe a different industry, different environment, different people. I intend to step up my efforts in landing a new job next year. I hope I get THAT job though...

2. Healthier lifestyle
-Excercise, detox & eat healthily! I think I need to lose a couple of kilos or I won't look good on my 23rd year..

3. Upgrading works..
- Superhero pestering me to learn driving. I may need to take some courses too..if I have the time & money that is. Whatever it is, I must do some self upgrades..if i don't wanna be left out!

4. Bring out the Good in ME!
-I wanna be nicer, happier, more patient, independent, treat Superhero better, prettier...and the list goes on.. :)

Dinner At The Bistro...

I felt like being a romantic girlfie today, so I planned to have a cosy dinner with Superhero. I read about this new dining place at Mount Faber, called Faber Hill Bistro at the Straits' Times. When I called up to make enquiries, the staff was like unsure of the menu & range of prices. My call was transfered a couple of times but anyways, decided to give it a try.

We took the cable car to Sentosa and then to Mount Faber. It's so nice to be up in the air for awhile, to calm our nerves down. Superhero was already stoning coz he was getting hungry! He didn't know where I was taking him of course...

The bistro's location is nice but before we even sat down, I was bitten by a mosquito. After we ordered, I was bitten twice again! Now, I get very irritated by mosquitoe bites & I hope it won't spoil my evening! Superhero ordered a Salmon Platter & I had Spaghetti Bolognaise. (When I'm in a new eating place, I'll go for the basics, you see). If you ask me, the food was just okay. Nothing out of the ordinary. I guess the staff are new coz they don't seem to be familiarised with the menu or the surroundings. I noticed that the patron was teaching the service staff on how to serve wine at another table! Goodness.. & we are paying for service charge worr...

Superhero & I finished off with a serving of tiramisu. Interesting one, coz we were expecting a cake kind but it came as a crunchy bowl-like cone with tiramisu flavoured ice cream & some sweet stuff in it. All for $13! Hmmm...it's hard to get a decent tiramisu up on a hill yah..

Well, go Mount Faber for the walk & if you feeling-feeling Genting Highland in Singapore. But other than that, skip the meals up there & just proceed to Liang Seah Hawker Centre for good Indian food instead...

Sleepless in CCK (Part 2)

Hmm..it's 3 am local time. I'm still stoned in front of my computer screen. I don't know what to think, what to feel or what to do. The best thing of all, I can't sleep! Even if I lie on my bed, I'll be tossing & turning so much till I see the so called stars sparkling from my celing.

Hmm.. I heard a story from a friend just now. She's sad. Work is already so tough & she's trying to spend time with her loved ones. But too bad, things are not exactly going her way. She thinks she's strong enough to pull this off, but in actual fact, she's only human. At the end of the day, she just want everyone to be happy.

Hmm.. I want eveyone to be happy too, really.

We and the Musical~

This week, myself and Superhero got 2 off days from our work! He's nice to plan to watch a musical, since we have not watched one together before. He chose " Oi! Sleeping Beauty! The Wake Up Musical". Honestly, I don't really enjoy musicals coz I don't like the idea of singing and acting at the same time but, this local production is very good! It's funny, witty and entertaining. Especially with the likes of Selena Tan, Pam Oei & Chua Enlai..they are hilarious. Superhero was laughing throughout the musical.. :)

After watching the musical, me and Superhero also got a lil artsy fartsy. Haha..just look at the pics above...

Chilling with THE Music and THE Book.

Superhero has came back & he bought me a CD compilation & guess what..a BOOK! Goodness, it's been ages since I read a book until the fact that whenever I read one, I feel sleepy! Haha..but since he bought me one, i might as well cultivate reading again. It's "Memoirs of a Geisha". I can't wait for the movie too...

Sighs..Superhero lost his Ipod the other day! He left it in the cab. Whatsmore, I was the one who bought him the Ipod. We are both sad larr.. coz the Ipod means a lot to us. There were good memories & he loves the gadget.. :(

We went to Gramaphone just now, fishing for something cool to listen to. I decided on "Too Chilled". It's a compilation of those lounge/electronica kinda music. Superhero bought something downtempo, a mixed of fusion & oriental they call it. We thought it's really 2 for 1 price of a CD but soon, we realised that the 2 CDs in each compilation is the same! It's like, Disc 1 and Disc 2 contain the same songs but different remixes only!

Chey..our feelings are cheated AGAIN...

Sleepless in CCK

I don't think I can sleep properly tonight. It's not exactly about work. My day, though started off busy, it went okay still. What made me excited today was that someone is coming back home..after being away for only awhile. I thought we could meet up for a bit so I tried to finish my work as fast as I can. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out the way I hope it would be & I ended up walking around Bugis St by myself. Retail therapy helps I guess..

Honestly, I feel that what some people have thoughts about me is that I'm one who's bad, unreasonable and not understanding. I'm quite sarcastic at times, but my weakest point is that I'm sensitve. Kinda sad when I'm very sincere about things, the other party thinks that I'm just..paranoid? I don't ask a lot, I just want people to see where I'm coming from. But, well.. I often got misunderstood AGAIN. They think I'm forcing them to do things my way... I just hate THAT feeling! Why can't someone so close to me understand even if the whole World don't?

Boring Weekend....I NEED A HOLIDAY!

Yesterday was my off day..after working for almost 10 days consecutively. Superhero is not in town so I decided to spend quality time with myself. :) Went for a body massage & scrub with my best friend at a Balinese spa along Arab St. It was good..I mean..since when a massage isn't good, right? I wish I could just stay at the spa the whole day& pamper myself silly. Hehe..I also went to Raffles Hospital to do a chemical peel on my face before that. Now my face is red from the peeling & I can't wear make-up for a week! I look real ugly now..

Like I said, Superhero is not in town till next week. And he hasn't call me even once since he went away..Sad sad sad. Wonder what he's up to over there...

My favourite Assistant Manager is flying off to Japan tonight for a 6 month cross-exposure at one of the Hotels there. Aww...when's my turn?! I do not want to be stuck in Singapore forever! But I love my home. Keke~

Still actively plotting a short getaway early next year though.... :)
